Led by Mr. Lody Embrechts, International Relations Consultant of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a delegation from Ras Al Khaimah, UAE paid a visit to the NUS Guangzhou Research Translation and Innovation Institute (NUS GRTII) on April 23. Accompanied by Qian Hongjie, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province (GDFAO), Zheng Hongmei, Deputy Director of Asian Affairs Division of GDFAO, Zheng Yong, Director of the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) Cooperation Affairs Office, and Chen Xinmei, Deputy Director of the CSGKC Cooperation Affairs Office, Fu Xiaofang, Senior Associate Director of NUS GRTII, attended and hosted the delegation’s reception.
Representing NUS GRTII, Senior Associate Director Fu Xiaofang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She then led the visitors on a tour of the exhibition hall, offering a detailed introduction to NUS GRTII’s growth history, specialized strengths and key programs.
Fu Xiaofang, Senior Associate Director, underscored the robust support from the Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Huangpu District Government. She also highlighted the crucial role of the well-established supply chain in China’s Greater Bay Area in fostering an excellent enterprise development ecosystem for the industrialization of NUS’s scientific and technological achievements. This has successfully expedited the transition of these achievements from laboratory settings to industrialized applications. The two sides engaged in cordial discussions on the applicability of NUS and NUS GRTII's research achievements and practical experience in the UAE and the broader Middle East, as well as potential areas for collaboration.
Looking ahead, NUS GRTII will resolutely press forward on the path of China-Singapore cooperation, fully leveraging its strengths in scientific research, talent resources and internationalization, and persistently activating the three key engines of scientific research, talent cultivation, and innovation and entrepreneurship. With firm roots in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, NUS GRTII will proactively expand cooperation with Singapore and beyond, determined to infuse Singaporean expertise and best practices into the regional scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Rooting ourselves in the Greater Bay Area, we will serve as a link bewteen Singapore and Guangzhou, committed to promoting more high-caliber collaborations.
